• Celegorm inflames his brethren, and they prepare an assault on Doriath, coming up at unawares in winter.

• The Second Kinslaying occurs, when the Sons of Fëanor attack Doriath on its east marches, seeking for the Silmaril.
• Celegorm is slain by Dior. Deaths of Curufin and Caranthir. Both Dior and his wife Nimloth are killed.
• Eluréd and Elurín are abandoned to die in the forest by the cruel servants of Celegorm.
