• Death of King Telemnar and his children.
• Tarondor, the nephew of Telemnar, becomes the twenty-seventh King of Gondor.
• The White Tree dies in Minas Anor.
• The plague spreads north and west, hits the Shire and many parts of Eriador become desolate.
• Around the same time the Shadow in Greenwood grows deeper and evil things reappear.
• Around the same time the Witch-king sent the Barrow-wights that haunted the hills, preventing any resettlement.
