Carta 194a
Summary
Tolkien commented on the "vulgar nurses" causing an unspecified strain on Michael. He indicated that he believed the Church was the only place where the Blessed Sacrament could be conducted.
He briefly discussed the Suez Crisis and the political turmoil surrounding then Prime Minister Anthony Eden. He expressed his disdain for the possibility of a socialist government and said "there will be nowhere to go to escape the rising tide of ‘orquerie’". He mentioned a letter that a factory worker interested in Elvish.
He also also tells Michael to not worry about Michael George Tolkien's English (it's unclear what specifically the concern was). He closes the letter with the statement "Beware! All leftists are anti-philology!"
