Summary
Tolkien informs Rayner Unwin about his temporary teaching responsibilities. Tolkien has been asked to temporarily fill in for the outgoing professor of Anglo-Saxon until a new professor takes over. He describes this obligation as "pleasant but inopportune", considering his existing workload.
