Arbour of the Thrushes

The Arbour of the Thrushes was a green arbour within the gardens outside the Cottage of Lost Play. In here the birds sang mightily, but the lawns were spread with gold. It had a seat there of carven stone grown with moss.

It was in this arbour that Eriol conversed with Rúmil about The Music of the Ainur.

The garden itself was under the care of Rúmil and had a lane of hazel-bushes which Eriol found him strolling along. It had a great number of birds, and of them Rúmil commented that "all the songs of Tol Eressëa are to be heard at times within this garden." When Eriol was wandering there, it was described as such:
