Erien

Erien was the daughter of Fingon according to a very late, but ultimately rejected version of the legendarium.

She had one other sibling, a brother called Finbor.

Etymology

The name Erien is in Sindarin, but it has no clear meaning. A possible explanation of her name would be a combination of the Sindarin adjective er ("one, alone") + the feminine suffix -ien.

An earlier, rejected form of her name was Ernis.
