atar (pl. atari) is a Quenya word meaning "father".

Inspiration
Atar can be compared to Greek/Latin pater.
In Celtic branch the Indoeuropean initial p- was lost thence we have forms similar to atar, like Irish athair (from Proto-Celtic *ɸatīr).
