Dumbledors
Dumbledors were a legendary "ferocious race of winged insects", mentioned only in Hobbit verse. The dumbledors were said to have battled a knight on a quest.
Etymology
Dumbledor or dumbledore is an obsolete English word for bumblebee.
Portrayal in adaptations
Dumbledors are described as being large winged insects weighing 6-8 pounds, carrying illness or poison, and to live in the Midgewater Marshes.
