Hevensday

Hevensday (or Hensday; archaic form Hevenesdei) was the fifth day of the week in the Shire Calendar. It represented the Númenórean day Ormenel, dedicated to Menel, the heavens.

After the reform of Isengrim Took II, dates such as 1 June and 1 December always fell on Hevensday.

Etymology

Hevensday represents an archaic Hobbitish form "Hevenesdei", a word preserved in the Yellowskin.

Hevensday is translated as "Wednesday" in The Lord of the Rings.
