The Quenya word imbë (or imbe) means "between".

Examples

"i falmalinnar imbë met, ar hísië" ('on the foaming waves between us, and mist')

The word imbe, in an unidentified Elvish language, is said to mean "in(wards)".

Helge Fauskanger has suggested that the word likely is Quenya.
