Wintring

Wintring in Bree was the tenth month of the Bree Calendar, corresponding to Winterfilth in the Shire Calendar (approximately corresponding to modern 22 September through 21 October).

Etymology

The Bree name Wintring means "Wintry".

The Shire-hobbits believed that Wintring was a Bree alteration of the older name.
