Summary
In an airgraph to his son Christopher, Tolkien mentions that C.S. Lewis underwent surgery to address a throat issue and to remove a piece of shrapnel from his arm, which he had carried since 1917. Tolkien also recounts enjoying a pint with Charles Williams, who returned two chapters of The Lord of the Rings that he had typed up.
