Summary

Additionally, Tolkien recounts his rare visit to the cinema with Edith to watch The Song of Bernadette. He found the film deeply moving and reflective of the miraculous story of Bernadette Soubirous and Lourdes. Despite any production flaws, the film successfully reminded Tolkien of the profound human and religious significance of Bernadette's story.
