Ponórir

Ponórir was the name of the northern portion of the Great Lands, later known as Scandinavia (with Ponórë being the Qenya name for Norway), according to the early version of the legendarium associated with The Book of Lost Tales.

Etymology

The name Ponórir is in Qenya, glossed as "the Northlands, Scandinavia" in the Qenya Lexicon, a combination of the root PO (associated with the north) + nórë ("land").
