Siriondil (King of Gondor)

Siriondil (Third Age 570 – Third Age 830, aged 260) was the eleventh King of Gondor.

History

Siriondil's rule was apparently uneventful. He had two children, Tarannon and Tarciryan.

He was succeeded by his illustrious son Tarannon Falastur, the first of the four Ship-kings of Gondor.

Etymology

Siriondil is Quenya. It is not glossed, but as Paul Strack explains, it probably means "Sirion-lover", from the river name Sirion and the suffix -(n)dil ("lover, friend").
