Atanatar I

Atanatar I (Q, pron. [aˈtanatar]; Third Age 480 – Third Age 748, aged 268 years) was the tenth King of Gondor, ruling for 81 years, from Third Age 667 until his death.

History

He was the son of Turambar, the great conqueror of the Easterlings. Atanatar's reign, however, was uneventful, and he was succeeded by his son Siriondil.

Etymology

Atanatar is Quenya. It means "Father of Men". It is a compound of Atan ("Man") and atar ("father").
