Tethil

Tethil was the name of a poppy-inhabiting flower fay, according to the early version of the legendarium associated with The Book of Lost Tales. Nothing else is known about her, and she doesn't appear in any of the narratives.

Etymology

The name Tethil is in Gnomish, and it includes the element teth ("a bud"). Its Qenya cognate is Tetillë, an elaboration on tetl ("small flower"), which is itself derived from the root TETE ("bud, blossom").
