Hoth

hoth is a Sindarin word meaning "host, horde (nearly always in a bad sense)".

In Noldorin (an early version of Sindarin) the word hoth means "host, crowd" and is "frequent in people-names". It derives from Primitive Quendian khotsē "assembly" (root KHOTH- "gather").
