• Beren and Lúthien return to Middle-earth, both mortal. They inhabit Tol Galen and the area becomes known as Dor Firn-i-Guinar, "the Land of the Dead that Live".
• The Union of Maedhros clears Beleriand of orcs, but in doing so reveals the Eldar's full strength to Morgoth.
• The Evil Breath is unleashed from Angband and Túrin falls ill.
• Death of Lalaith.
• Birth of Manthor.
