Pines
Pines were common evergreen trees, found throughout the lands of Middle-earth, but especially in the highlands of Dorthonion, a land which took its name from the pine trees that grew there.

Portrayal in adaptations
1994: Middle-earth Role Playing—Treasures of Middle-earth
A type of pine tree, namely Blue Pine (S. Luinthon, Q. Luinisono), also called Mother Pine, is described as a common evergreen tree in Rhudaur. As the name suggests, its wood had a blue-silver hue. The wood's high amounts of tannic acid made it act as a natural preservative, while its large cones carried edible seeds which were consumed by Hillmen.
