The J.R.R. Tolkien Encyclopedia: Scholarship and Critical Assessment is a massive reference book published in 2006, edited by Michael D.C. Drout, co-edited by Douglas A. Anderson, Marjorie Burns, Verlyn Flieger, and Tom Shippey.
The book contains 550 articles contributed by a team of 127 Tolkien scholars, covering topics of J.R.R. Tolkien's fiction, his academic works, his intellectual and spiritual influences, and his biography.
A paperback edition was released on 20 December 2013.
