Leaves from the Tree
Leaves from the Tree: J.R.R. Tolkien's Shorter Fiction is a collection of the proceedings of the 4th Tolkien Society Workshop, held in Beverley in 1989. It was published by The Tolkien Society in 1991 under the auspices of the Peter Roe Memorial Fund in 1991.
The publication is notable for including contributions from John Rateliff, Christina Scull and Tom Shippey. In particular, Christina Scull's paper, "Dragons from Andrew Lang's Retelling of Sigurd to Tolkien's Chrysophylax", reproduces an extract from Tolkien's then unpublished lecture on dragons.
