Sir Gawain and the Green Knight (edition)

Sir Gawain and the Green Knight is an edition of the Middle English long poem Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, co-edited by J.R.R. Tolkien and E.V. Gordon. It was published in 1925 by the Clarendon Press, Oxford.

Tolkien edited the main text and compiled the glossary, while Gordon provided the greater part of the notes, it also includes an introduction and a linguistic appendix. In 1967 a second edition was published, edited by Norman Davis, where the introduction, notes, and appendix are largely rewritten.

The Modern English translation by Tolkien was published in Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, Pearl, and Sir Orfeo in 1975, edited by Christopher Tolkien.
