Carta 11b
Summary
Tolkien had been sent a typed copy of The Hobbit to proof read prior to publication and commented that there were "very few divergences from copy".
He mentions Thrór's Map and that he has chosen where within the book two illustrations should be placed.
He admits to revising a considerable part of the story where he had "confusions of narrative and geography", around 16 pages of changes, which he sends back to Allen & Unwin with a list of his changes.
He ends the letter with an apology to C. A. Furth for being a poor host when he visited last, as he had not been well but he is now feeling "revived".
