Summary
Tolkien wrote to Christopher and mentioned that Edith Tolkien had handed him a note in the Oxford Times where Doctor Lewis Farnell had congratulated an unnamed newly elected fellow at Exeter College. Tolkien commented that Farnell was pedantically courteous. Tolkien said that he believed Christopher had also received a nice letter reconizing his election to a fellowship at New College.
