Carta a Ingeborg Korff

On 31 December 1964, J.R.R. Tolkien wrote a letter to Ingeborg Korff, a primary schoolteacher in Germany, directed to her pupils.
- Publication: None. A transcription of the letter was posted on the web site Tolkien Collector's Guide.
- Comment: The letter was found by the nephew of Ingeborg Korff, who posted photographs of the letter and envelope on Tolkien Collector's Guide. Wayne G. Hammond and Christina Scull contacted Christopher Tolkien to evaluate the authenticity of the letter. He replied that the letter was genuinely by his father: "entirely characteristic, and signed by him: the signature is unquestionable and in no way out of the ordinary".
