Leo Carruthers

Leo Carruthers is an emeritus professor of english medieval studies at the University of Paris-Sorbonne. His research focuses on the relationship between religion and society in the British Isles. Author of L'Anglais médiéval (Brepols, 1996), he has published several books and articles on English medieval literature, from Beowulf to modern fiction inspired by this period; he edited Tolkien et le Moyen Âge (CNRS Éditions, 2007).
