Summary
Tolkien wrote that he hoped Christopher, then age 15 and a student at The Oratory School, had not had any air-raids lately, and that "nothing either amusing or interesting" had happened in the previous week. However, some bombs had fallen on Friday, one of them loud enough to awaken Priscilla and Edith, and the early blackout time was irksome, as it prevented Tolkien from going anywhere in the evening. Tolkien also mentioned a "quick pint with Lewis".
