Vivendi

Vivendi is a French media conglomerate, owner of Sierra Entertainment and for a short time also of Houghton Mifflin. The former branch concerned with interactive multimedia, Vivendi Games, published several video games on the license of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, before the book rights went to Electronic Arts:

• 2002: The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
• 2003: The Hobbit
• 2004: The Lord of the Rings: War of the Ring

In 2008, Vivendi Games was merged with Activision, to create Activision Blizzard.
