Linaewen

Linaewen was a long, narrow lake within the vast marshland of reeds and pools that formed the Marshes of Nevrast, which were in the eastern lowlands of the country of Nevrast. The margins of Linaewen abounded with wading birds of every kind. It was from these birds that it took its name: Linaewen is Elvish for "lake of birds".

Etymology

Linaewen is a Sindarin name, composed of lind ("pool, mere") + aew ("bird") + en (adjective suffix), therefore "Lake of Birds".
