Araglas (Third Age 2296 - Third Age 2455, died aged 159) was the sixth Chieftain of the Dúnedain.
History
Araglas was the son of Chieftain Aragorn I, who was killed by wolves in Third Age 2327. Araglas' own rule was uneventful. He ruled for 128 years until he died in 2455 and was followed by his son, Arahad I.
Etymology
Araglas is a Sindarin name. Its meaning is not glossed, but Paul Strack and David Salo suggest it means "Royal-joy" and is a compound of the prefix ar(a)- ("noble", "royal", "high") and glass ("joy").
Other versions of the legendarium
In an earlier manuscript Araglas' name was "Arallas".
