Norman Bird

Norman Bird (30 October 1924 - 22 April 2005) was a British character actor. Active from the 1950s, he made guest appearances in well-known series such as The Saint and Z Cars, playing mostly civil servants and policemen. In 1978, Bird provided the voice of Bilbo Baggins in The Lord of the Rings (1978 film). His last known role was as a taxi driver in the C.S. Lewis biopic Shadowlands.
