Ailinel

Ailinel was the second of the three children of Tar-Meneldur and Almarian of Númenor. Her older brother Aldarion later became King Tar-Aldarion; her younger sister was Almiel. She was the eldest out of Tar-Aldarion's sisters. Ailinel married Orchaldor, who was descended from the House of Hador and they had a son named Soronto.

Etymology

Ailinel is a Quenya name. Its meaning is not glossed, but Helge Fauskanger suggests it means "Lake-woman" or something similar and consists of the elements ailin ("lake") + the feminine suffix -iel.
