Maltar
Hammer of Aulë
Maltar was the name of Aulë's hammer, according to the early version of the legendarium in The Book of Lost Tales. Nothing else is known about it.
Etymology
The name Maltar is in Qenya. It is probably derived from the roots MALA- ("crush, squeeze, pulp"), and TARA- ("to batter, thud, beat").
