Adrahil

Adrahil was the son of Angelimir. He became the twenty-first Prince of Dol Amroth after his father's death in Third Age 2977.

Adrahil had three children. His oldest daughter, Ivriniel, his second daughter, Finduilas and his youngest child and only son, Imrahil.

In Third Age 2976 Adrahil's daughter Finduilas married Denethor, the son of Steward Ecthelion II of Gondor.

Two years later in Third Age 2978 Finduilas' older son Boromir was born and five years after that in Third Age 2983 her younger son Faramir was born.

Five years after the birth of her second son Faramir, Finduilas died young at the age of 38 in Third Age 2988.

Adrahil died in Third Age 3010 and was succeeded by his only son Imrahil.

Adrahil presumably is an Adûnaic name of unknown meaning.

The second element -hil (also seen in the name Imrahil) perhaps is related to the Westron ending -kil (cf. banakil, Tarkil) meaning "man", ultimately related to Elvish "follower".
